Limits and notes

The SSID is limited to 32 UTF-8 bytes; WPA passwords must be 8–63 printable ASCII characters, WEP accepts only defined lengths, and scanner compatibility can vary.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create a code for an open network?

Yes. Choose the no-password mode to omit the password field from the Wi-Fi payload.

Are special characters in the password escaped?

The tool escapes backslashes, semicolons, commas, colons, and double quotes according to the Wi-Fi QR convention; the scanner must follow the same convention.
